Howdens’ commitment signifies its intention to develop an SBTi approved pathway to halve emissions by 2030 and to achieve net-zero by 2050.
Howdens, the UK’s number one trade kitchen supplier, has committed to set near and long-term company-wide emission reduction targets in line with the Science Based Targets Initiative.
The Science Based Targets initiative is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net zero emissions before 2050.
Howdens’ commitment signifies its intention to develop an SBTi approved pathway to halve emissions by 2030 and to achieve net-zero by 2050.
The company is the first major UK kitchen supplier to make a commitment with the SBTi.

In January 2022 Howdens achieved carbon-neutral manufacturing at its key sites in Howden and Runcorn certified by The Carbon Trust. Howdens’ manufacturing and distribution facilities reached zero waste to landfill in 2019, and 99% of all Howdens UK depot waste avoids landfill.
