The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) is urging industry members impacted recent job losses to take advantage of BMCareers.

BMCareers is a dedicated platform designed to connect talented professionals with new employment opportunities within the sector.

Those seeking new roles are encouraged to upload their CVs to the BMCareers.com website by using the Upload Your Profile and Get Noticed feature. Applicants can specify the county or counties where they wish to work. Once registered, profiles will be added to the secure Talent Pool, which is accessible exclusively to employers in the building materials sector, who can view CVs and make direct contact with applicants.

To enhance visibility, candidates are advised to complete the 100-word biography section on the registration form, highlighting their experience within the industry and their readiness to start work. This helps HR teams to quickly identify sector professionals who are immediately available.

In addition to uploading CVs, job seekers are encouraged to regularly check BMCareers for current job vacancies advertised by merchants and suppliers on the site. Many employers have also posted opportunities on LinkedIn, reaffirming the sector’s commitment to retaining valuable talent.

BMF CEO John Newcomb said: “We are extremely sorry to see so many people across the building materials industry affected by recent job losses.  Through our BMCareers website, we are working to provide those affected with new opportunities to begin their next chapter in building materials.”
