BAMBER BRIDGE: Edward Carson, owner of Martin Edwards builders' merchants is helping restore a forgotten part of Preston's history
He rescued six giant pillars from Preston's old Public Hall in Lune Street when it was demolished in 1989.
He said: "We originally bought them when we were involved in the demolition. It was a big job. They are quite ornate but are nothing too over-the-top."
Gibbon Bridge Hotel in Chipping is including the pillars in a new orangery it is building to host weddings.
