The Yorkshire based business was delighted to attend the official opening of Barnsley’s Base71 Youth Zone.

As a long-standing supporter, Yorkshire based Naylor was delighted to attend the official opening of Barnsley’s Base71 Youth Zone – Yorkshire’s first youth zone and the first of three zones to be opened in the county this year.

Operating three sites in Barnsley and the surrounding area, Naylor has been an active supporter of Base71 since the initial planning stages back in the early 2020s, contributing to the capital costs of construction and also co-hosting a business awareness evening to encourage other local companies to get involved.

Helen Jowitt, Events and Corporate Operations Manager at Naylor, said: “With two thirds of our employees based at our Barnsley sites, we see ourselves very much as a Barnsley business and are committed to supporting the local community. More than 5,500 young people have already signed up as Base71 members exceeding the zone’s membership targets and underlining how important this facility is to the area.  We will continue to support Base71 going forward and hope this helps to ensure that young people in the area have a safe, welcoming place to connect with one another and to develop the skills they need to thrive.”

Mandy Carlson, CEO of Base71 Youth Zone, added: “The team at Naylor has been incredibly supportive of Base71 from the very earliest planning stages. We are very grateful for their contribution to the capital costs of constructing the Youth Zone and for their belief in the project from the very beginning. We look forward to continuing our work with Naylor as we grow.”
