Onduline, the light weight roofing systems and water-proofing specialist, has added a ‘new and improved’ range of breathable vapour-permeable membranes to its portfolio, further extending its product range available for trade customers.
Offering a high technical specification, including advanced levels of tensile strength, tear resistance and ductility, the ONDUTISS AIR membranes comprise a microporous functional film protected on both sides by a layer of polypropylene and are available in four different grades, 100gsm, 120gsm, 140gsm and 160gsm.
As well as being BBA accredited, meaning the breathable membranes are suitable for new builds and renovation projects, ONDUTISS AIR also carries a W1 classification resistance to water penetration and a Class E reaction to fire.
Ardit Strica, Technical Manager for Onduline Building Products, said: “I’m sure most would say that surely a membrane is just a membrane? But the technical strengths of this suite of products gives us confidence enough to say that they are truly market leading.
“Among their other advantages, their tensile strength, tear resistance and ability to stretch before breaking compare extremely highly when measured against similar products on the market.
“Generally, when choosing a membrane, the focus is on grammage, which of course is important, but it is the technical qualities that sets this range apart and we’re delighted to be bringing ONDUTISS AIR to the market.”
It is suitable for use on roofs with a full deck or purlins as an initial underlay for thermally insulated, ventilated, sloping roofs, and in particular for use under concrete tiles and sheet tiles.
As well as improving the efficiency of thermal insulation, it helps reduce energy consumption, reduces CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, regulates the flow of water vapour and is resistant to high and low temperatures.
Suitable for a vast range of projects from large-scale roofing to a home garden shed there is something for all, meeting the requirements of everyone from a DIYer to roofing contractors.
The 100gsm and 120gsm products are available now through selected roofing and builders’ merchants, while the 140gsm and 160gsm are being supplied to order for specific projects on quick lead in times.
