Kevin Ley will play a central role in developing and maintaining technical standards.

Permavent has appointed Kevin Ley as Head of Technical, strengthening the company’s technical leadership and reinforcing its commitment to compliant, high-performance building envelope solutions.

In his new role, Ley will lead Permavent’s technical function, providing expert guidance across roofing ventilation, airtightness, condensation control and fire resistance. His appointment builds on Permavent’s established technical strengths, adding further depth and leadership to support customers navigating increasingly complex regulatory and performance requirements.

Ley brings extensive experience in technical specification, system design, and product support within the construction industry, with expertise across pitched and flat roofing. He is widely recognised for his ability to interpret building regulations, British Standards, and industry guidance and translate them into practical, buildable solutions. His experience includes advising on roof and wall build-ups, junction detailing, and condensation risk, helping customers address key challenges around moisture management, airflow, and long-term durability.

Ley will play a central role in developing and maintaining Permavent’s technical standards, ensuring guidance remains clear, robust, and ensuring that buildings constructed on site align with industry standards and best practice. He will also support project-specific technical enquiries and lead training and education initiatives, including CPD presentations for specifiers and technical training for contractors.

Commenting on his appointment, Ley said: “Permavent’s strong technical focus and reputation for practical, standards-led solutions made this an exciting opportunity. I’m looking forward to helping customers navigate evolving regulations and deliver robust, compliant roof and wall designs.”
