Rehau UK has announced the promotion of Steve Richmond to Sales & Marketing Director for the Building Solutions division.
Richmond, who joined Rehau in 2006 as a Commercial Graduate Trainee, has steadily progressed through the company over the past 19 years, and takes this new post following the retirement of Colin Pearson after 27 years of dedicated service. Both have always worked closely together, but to ensure a smooth transition, in addition to his day-to-day responsibilities Richmond has shadowed Pearson for the past six months. Throughout the year Richmond has been actively meeting customers, both new and existing, to listen and understand the challenges their industries and sectors are facing.
In his new role, Richmond will lead the division’s efforts to ensure profitable and continuous expansion across the company’s diverse Building Solutions portfolio. One focus will be the continued development of Rehau’s flagship products, while ensuring first-class customer service through Rehau’s dedicated sales, project support and technical teams.
“I’m incredibly proud to take on this new role and continue contributing to a business that has supported my development”, said Steve Richmond.
“As we look to the future, I’m focused on driving sustainable growth, expanding our presence in key markets. As one of the market leaders in polymer pre-insulated pipe, we must we continue to deliver exceptional service and innovative solutions to our customers, and that’s something I’m keen to continue to build on in my new role.”
Richmond served as President of the British Plastics Federation’s (BPF) Pipes Group for three years. He was Vice-President before that for a further three years, and also represents Rehau at key industry trade groups, including the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) and the UK District Energy Association (UKDEA).
His promotion reflects Rehau’s commitment to internal development and nurturing talent from within, which has recently been recognised with a Great Place to Work certification. Specifically, Rehau placed in the Best Workplaces™ (Large) category, with the awards body recognising the company’s ongoing investment in its employee experience. Having previously completed Rehau’s two-year Management Development programme, Steve has played a pivotal role in shaping the division’s strategic direction, particularly in the areas of district heating, and heating and plumbing applications.
“Steve’s promotion is a testament to his dedication, leadership, and deep understanding of the industry,” said Martin Hitchin, CEO at Rehau UK. “His journey from a Graduate Trainee to Sales & Marketing Director is a great example of the opportunities available within Rehau, and I am confident that under his leadership, our Building Solutions division will continue to thrive.”
