Rudridge recently supplied 20 hi-visibility jackets to local group Confident Children, which helps youngsters overcome issues of confidence and self-esteem with courses and workshops, as well as fun day trips.

The hi-vis jackets will ensure that the children can be both seen and safe when they go out and about.

Founder of Confident Children, Genny Jones, applied for help for the group through the Rudridge Community Fund which supports local charities, organisations and projects.

Ms Jones said: “Children’s self-esteem and coping skills can be affected by so many things. From my own experience in particular I know that relationship breakdowns can seriously affect their ability to stay upbeat and confident; children need to know that their parents’ separation is not their fault.

"At Confident Children we work with youngsters from a variety of backgrounds who have been affected by a range of issues to move forward, giving them skills that will help them now and into their adult lives. We also organise day trips and have a great deal of fun with sports, games and activities. These high-visibility jackets are very welcome in helping to us to extend options for our trips."

Richard Milton, Rudridge's Gravesend branch manager, added: “We are delighted to help support the work of Confident Children through our Community Fund. Keeping energetic children visible when they go out and about is crucial these hi-vis jackets for the youngsters will do the job just fine!”
