FLINTSHIRE: Travis Perkins has opened a housing stores facility in Greenfield for the county council. The facility, which will be managed by Travis Perkins on behalf of the council, will ensure tradespeople can obtain materials to carry out repairs to tenants' houses more efficiently.

This new partnership came about following a review of the council's in-house stores facility, when a decision was made to enter into an agreement with an external supplier to manage the procurement and supply of materials for the housing asset section.

Cllr Helen Brown, executive member for housing, said: "This is a significant and extremely positive move forward for the council.

"We look forward, excitedly, to making the new partnership with Travis Perkins a huge success.

"The project and work involved is a credit to all."

Richard Adams, operations director at Travis Perkins managed services, said: "We look forward to providing a first-class service to council employees and tenants in the future."
