LEAMINGTON SPA: Wolseley has opened a dedicated integrated supply chain store to service its new customer, the Tingdene Group, after securing a solus supply deal with the company worth around £4m a year.

The construction materials distributor will operate the store at Tingdene's 20-acre site in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, where its head office and manufacturing facilities are also based. The store will focus entirely on sourcing and supplying the full range of building, plumbing and electrical materials required for Tingdene's off-site modular building operations, which includes housing for the retirement sector and holiday accommodation.

Steve Ashmore, managing director of Wolseley UK's heavyside division, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract, which is a result of our proven expertise and experience in running dedicated integrated supply stores for customers, and the efficiencies which can be achieved by our established supply chain.

"We will be working closely with Tingdene to identify market opportunities for its off-site modular solutions as part of a joint sales and marketing venture."

Tingdene's chairman Chris Gibbard added: "We are excited about collaborating with Wolseley, which can provide the wide range of products needed for our quality bespoke homes – from timber to sanitaryware, roofing to kitchens.  This new partnership will also look for continuous improvement in product specification and innovation in terms of lifecycle, quality, sustainable credentials and value for money."
