Staff, suppliers and customers of Kent Blaxill who took part in a 120-mile cycle ride at the end of June have raised over £7,000 for the company’s two chosen charities.
Two £3,655.78 cheques were presented to representatives of the Rob George Foundation and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Around 50 cyclists completed the Kent Blaxill tour of Essex and Suffolk, which started and finished at the company’s Colchester store, and took in stops at Saffron Walden, Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury. The cyclists included Andy English, a longtime employee of Kent Blaxill, who completed the marathon on a recumbent bicycle.
Simon Blaxill, Kent Blaxill managing director, said: “Everyone raised at least £100 and some a great deal more. The Air Ambulance relies on charity and covers the region in which we operate offering an invaluable service, although one we hope we will never need. The Rob George Foundation provides opportunities and support for young people – perhaps an Olympian of the future.”
