Selco Builders Warehouse has extended its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support until the end of 2016.
“We are delighted to be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support for a further two years and extend our successful partnership with the charity,” said Chris Cunliffe, chief executive of Selco Builders Warehouse. “Our staff, customers and suppliers have really thrown their support behind our charity push over the last three years and to raise over £174,000 is a fantastic effort by all concerned.
“We took a staff vote on which charity we should support over the next two years and the fact that we are continuing with Macmillan Cancer Support shows it is obviously very close to the hearts of everyone who works at Selco.
“We can’t wait to get started on our next two years’ fundraising. Activities are already planned and we want to get over the £300,000 mark.”
Staff, customers and suppliers have taken part in many events to raise money, including golf days, cycle rides, charity runs – including HR manager Simon Ball running the London Marathon – auctions at the annual Selco supplier conference and participation in the Macmillan Coffee Morning, where baking skills are put to the test.
Rhys Parker, regional corporate account manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are thrilled that Selco Builders Warehouse has decided to continue its support over the next two years. They have been a key partner of ours in recent times and the money they have raised has been a brilliant effort and had a massive impact on the support we can provide as a charity.”
