Selco Builders Warehouse has started 2015 with a bang by opening its 36th branch in the UK.
More than 50 jobs have been created in Redhill, Surrey as a result of the new branch opening, which follows the Isleworth branch launch in September 2014.
On Monday 2 February 2015, the ribbon was cut on the Orchard Business Park, with three children from nearby Salfords Primary School – Katie Newton, Olivia Newton and Abbie Jo-Goacher – taking part in the ceremony after winning a special competition to design a house of the future.
Chris Cunliffe, chief executive of Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “We are delighted to have opened in Redhill and further extended the Selco offering in London and the South East.
“As with all of the branches in London and the South East, as well as Nottingham, our latest initiative Selco Hire will be available at Redhill, with customers able to hire an extremely wide range of tools and equipment.
“The creation of 50 jobs is something which will provide a huge benefit to the local economy, and selecting people to fill the positions who live in the nearby community is something we are passionate about.”
He added: “We were thrilled to have three young members of a Redhill school playing a significant part in the official opening, and we will continue to engage and support the local community wherever possible.”
As well as running the design competition in conjunction with Salfords, Selco has donated £500 worth of building materials to the school to enhance its outdoor area.
The Redhill branch offers a wide range of building materials; drainage, roofing, heating, plumbing and electrical products; a range of timber, including a bespoke cutting service; doors and windows; ironmonger and fixings; decorating supplies; landscaping and fencing items; as well as kitchen and bathroom showrooms.
There is also an in-branch café, trade counter services, direct-to-site delivery options and van-size parking spaces, all designed to make it easier for tradespeople to get on to the job as soon as possible.
