Ashmore takes over as Wolseley MD

LEAMINGTON SPA: Wolseley has named Steve Ashmore as its UK managing director with effect from today.

Mr Ashmore is currently the managing director of Wolseley's UK heavyside businesses – Build Center, Drain Center, Brandon Hire and Encon. He will continue in this role until a successor is appointed.

He joins Wolseley's executive committee and will report to chief executive, Ian Meakins.

Mr Ashmore was the managing director of the UK lightside businesses of Plumb Center, Parts Center, Unifix and BCG.

Before joining Wolseley in 2005, he spent over 11 years with Exel, the supply chain and third-party logistics provider, in a variety of leadership positions.
