Jewson is supporting local communities across its branch network, helping to train the next generation of construction workers and donating funds and skills to initiatives around the UK.
A new playground installation at Quest Primary School was recently sponsored by Jewson Croydon, with the team fully funding a brand new trim trail that acts as a key addition to the school’s OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme.
Meanwhile, Jewson Aylesbury supported apprentices at Aylesbury College, kitting them out with goodie bags and coordinating a training course with Jewson partner TuffStuff. Following an introduction from Jewson during a trade day earlier this year, TuffStuff agreed to provide pro bono training to 21 Aylesbury College apprentices across two days, donating all materials and providing certification to the attendees who were trained to use the TuffStuff Flexible GRP roofing system.
This partnership and the Quest Primary School funding are part of Jewson’s community outreach strategy that enables local branches to help causes in their area, donating time, funds and skills to make a difference.
Kenny Hope, Regional Director at Jewson, said: “We are always looking for ways to support the communities around our branches, and these have been two perfect opportunities to give something back to establishments looking to truly enhance the experiences of their pupils. Both initiatives will provide enrichment for local youngsters for many years to come.”
