Throughout my training, the level of support I have had from not just Abby but everyone within the business has been phenomenal, and I felt like an integral part of the team from the moment I started my placement here.

“CMO is growing fast, and it’s exciting to be with a business that is really going places – and also somewhere that values its employees and listens to our input, regardless of your place in the company structure.”

Porter is joining five other members of staff who have taken on permanent roles within the South West-based e-commerce company after completing courses at Plymouth City College.

In the past two years, Drew Clemens was appointed IT Assistant after undertaking a Level 2 IT, Web, Telecoms and Professionals apprenticeship and is now studying for a Level 3 apprenticeship, while Rebekah Patterson and Rebecca Johnstone both completed Level 2 Business and Administration apprenticeships in June 2020, and have both been appointed as Merchandising Executives. Like Clemens, Johnstone is now taking her studies further whilst working at

CMO is now looking to expand its apprenticeship programme and create more opportunities for those in the South West wishing to start a new career and combine their studies with working experience.

Amy Hatswell, Head of HR at, said: “As a fast-growing business, we are always looking for talented people to join the company, whether they are starting their career or looking for a change in direction, and our successful apprenticeship programme is one of the areas of growth that we are incredibly proud of.

“The fact that so many apprentices have opted to stay with us at the end of their courses is testament to the inclusive and supportive culture here at CMO: we have grown quickly, but this is still a very friendly environment with great team spirit, and we love to be able to reward people’s success.

“Danielle is yet another example of a new-starter who, through being nurtured and trusted to develop her role, now has a bright future ahead of her and I look forward to seeing her progress further with CMO.”
