The industry raised £96,306 for the annual CRASH Christmas Card Appeal in support of vulnerable people.

Companies were invited to donate their Christmas card budget to the charity in return for the use of a personalised e-Christmas card featuring their logo.

CRASH charity unites the UK construction industry’s passion, skills and resources to create vital places that care for homeless people and children and adults with a life-limiting illness.

Despite the impact of COVID-19, CRASH was able to continue responding to requests for help from homelessness charities and hospices throughout 2020. With the support of its Corporate Patrons, CRASH help build a new dining room for patients at Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

Kate Heaps, CEO of Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice said: “This was a project the hospice had needed for some time, but I didn’t think it was going to happen any time soon – until CRASH came along…

“The current COVID-19 situation has highlighted the stress and anxiety of dealing with terminal illness and this new part of our building will be a place for people to relax over a meal, that is much needed.

“Once again thank you for all the work that CRASH and your Corporate Patrons put into giving our terminally ill patients, visitors and staff something special.”

Together CRASH and the construction industry can continue to support homelessness charities and hospices to improve their buildings so they can focus on delivering essential services to those in need, throughout the pandemic and for years to come.

This is only possible thanks to the success of fundraising and the generosity of the industry.
