Thirteen hospices are set to benefit from a week of fundraising activities.

Covers’ Timber and Builders’ Merchant will be running its fourth annual Help for Hospices fundraiser from 10 to 15 September, and aims to raise £30,000 for hospices across the South East.

It will donate £5 for every purchase made by a registered customer, and has pledged £20,000 to kick-start the event.

The event also features a raffle and a “builders’ bake-off” baking competition involving volunteers from the hospices and Covers staff at 14 depots. The cakes will be sold in aid of the hospices.

Rupert Green, Chairman at Covers, said: “’The Covers’ Help for Hospices’ campaign has become an annual fixture on our company’s calendar.

“We hope as many people as possible support us in our mission to raise lots of money for such important community charities.”
