Huws Gray has announced the launch of a new initiative designed to support staff in giving back to their local communities.

The Pick & Pledge initiative enables Huws Gray staff members to dedicate time to causes they care about, emphasising the business’ values of community, collaboration and responsibility. Employees are expected to be empowered to volunteer their time to support local charities and community groups, contribute to causes aligned with their personal passions, and make a meaningful difference in the communities Huws Gray serves.

Daiva Castle from the business' accounts payable team recently volunteered with the Cemaes Coastguard Rescue Team, completing Rope Technician Training and developing vital cliff-rescue skills to support the safety of local coastal communities. By supporting colleagues like Castle, Huws Gray hopes to create opportunities for its people to make a tangible impact, while strengthening its connection to communities across the UK.

The initiative was created to strengthen Huws Gray’s social value approach, making community support more staff-led, locally focused and embedded into everyday business activity, while aligning with the group’s values and long-term CSR priorities. It also compliments established corporate charity partnerships, including with CRASH and Mates in Mind, by introducing a more grassroots approach to volunteering, fundraising and local engagement as part of its sustainability strategy.

Daksh Gupta, CEO of Huws Gray, commented: “Pick & Pledge reflects our commitment to supporting the communities in which we operate. Our colleagues are the heart of our business, and this initiative gives them the opportunity to contribute their time and skills to causes that matter to them, while making a real difference locally.”
