NMBS has announced the first of the speakers who will take to the stage at the NMBS All-Industry Conference in June. Delegates can expect to be fascinated by the mysteries of change psychology.

With 2020 now in full swing, the NMBS All-Industry Conference is rapidly approaching. NMBS is working tirelessly to bring new speakers and innovative ideas to the Conference, with Makita as headline sponsor for the event.

The four-day event will be hosted by broadcaster and entertainer David Meade, who is being sponsored by Worcester Bosch.

A wide-ranging and inspiring group of speakers and presentations are being prepared for the business sessions during the Conference, with delegates set to enjoy some inspiring tales of triumph in the face of adversity, as well as hints and tips on leadership and business management from some of the world’s most recognised and celebrated speakers.

Damian Hughes: A liquid thinking approach

One of those speakers already booked for the event is Professor Damian Hughes, who combines his practical and academic background within sport, organisation and change psychology to work as a trusted advisor to the business, education and sporting elite, specialising in the creation of high-performing cultures.

He is the author of ‘Liquid Thinking’, ‘Liquid Leadership’, ‘How to Change Absolutely Everything’, ‘How to Think Like Sir Alex Ferguson’, and ‘The Five STEPS to a Winning Mindset’, in addition to the three acclaimed sports biographies of boxing legends Sugar Ray Robinson, Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler.

Through working with leading sports teams, such as Warrington Wolves and the Great Britain Rugby League Team, Hughes has developped an approach that helps to ensure that players and coaches are performing at their best from a mental perspective and that a culture, which only accepts the highest of standards, exists at all times.

Hughes believes a lot can be learnt from the world of sport, not only from the strong team ethos, which often exists, but also from the dedication, focus and discipline demonstrated by the athletes.

Through working closely with many sporting professionals, Hughes has been able to identify values, behaviours and techniques that are transferable to the world of business.

These strongly feature in the Liquid Thinking approach to benefit the organisations that he works with.

The conference agenda
