IronmongeryDirect has appointed two new staff members to its product management team. Lili Wang will be the product manager for cabinet hardware, seals and sliding doors, while David Saxby will be responsible for door furniture, bolts, stops, accessories, shelving and storage.

Both bring a wealth of experience to their roles, which will be key for IronmongeryDirect as the company has plans to further extend all ranges, with a goal of stocking 20,000 products within the next few years.

Ms Wang worked for more than six years at Dalebrook Supplies, a supplier of food presentation products, where she joined as purchasing manager. After being made sales manager for Asia, she helped the company to expand into the target sectors of the emerging markets, including branded coffee shops, supermarket and fast-food chains, and international hotels. While in charge of Asian markets, Ms Wang initiated a wholly foreign-owned enterprise in China, which included setting up the office, official registration with the government, employing staff and establishing the warehouse.

Prior to joining IronmongeryDirect, David Saxby worked for 17 years at Arrow Electronics, a global electronics distributor. In his role as purchasing manager he gained valuable experience working with multiple suppliers across different cultures and languages.

Mr Saxby said: "One of the things that attracted me to IronmongeryDirect was the continued growth of the business, achieved over a short period of time. Having a background in distribution, I'm looking forward to the challenge of sourcing new products and suppliers in new markets, which offers a great deal of flexibility and creativity in the role."

IronmongeryDirect currently stocks 14,000 products ready for next-day delivery. In 2012, the company achieved an eighth consecutive year of strong growth with turnover reaching £18.1m, up 22% on 2011.
