The LBS Group has announced the acquisition of Denman & Sons, a building materials supplier in Caerphilly.

Established in 1986, Denman & Sons has historically traded from two branches in Hengoed and Aberbeeg, servicing Caerphilly, Blackwood, Newport and Cardiff. However the business recently closed the Aberbeeg branch. In April 2024, LBS takes over the remaining site in Pengam/Hengoed branch, and is delighted to retain all staff across both sites, creating new and exciting career growth and opportunities.

LBS has a strong history of delivering building products across South Wales, and the addition of Denman & Sons to the group's portfolio bolsters its merchant network in a key strategic area of the country.

Rachel and Ben Davies, Joint Managing Directors of LBS Group, issued the following statement: “We are delighted to announce our acquisition of Denman & Sons. This acquisition is a great, strategic fit for LBS in an area that has been a target for us. We are looking forward to servicing the local community from the large, well-located site and are excited about our future plans to transform the branch and enhance our offering to customers.

“We continue to be committed to investment in our region and keeping the pound in Wales, and this strengthens our position as being the number one independent merchant in South Wales for the long term. Thank you to Craig, Amanda and the Denman family for their support during the transition and we look forward to working with the fantastic team at branch.”
