Isover’s pitched roof rafter solution, Metac, has officially become Local Authority Building Control registered.

Metac is a glass mineral wool ‘slab on a roll’ insulation that has been designed for pitched roof rafter applications.

Local Authority Building Control Registered Details assured compliance is a one-off certification process that proves conformity to the Building Regulations and standards across England, Wales and Scotland. This certification assures specifiers and contractors that Metac is fully Building Regulations compliant, making it suitable for use on local authority projects.

In order to achieve this accreditation, a number of factors were assessed for Metac including safety in case of fire, health, hygiene and environment factors, energy economy and heat retention.

Chris Roughneen, Technical Manager at Isover, said: “Registering Metac with LABC increases industry confidence in its performance and reliability.

“LABC is the only scheme of its kind, helping to ensure product acceptance by local authorities and simplifying the submission route for a project, providing specifiers with a ready-made library of rigorously checked systems and products.”
