OnePlace is NMBS’ B2B Ordering and Product Information Management (PIM) platform, offering independent merchants a central hub where you can place orders, source and access information on thousands of construction products.
OnePlace is free for NMBS Members to use and allows you to login to the platform and place orders through the shopping basket or using the quick order function. You can even place an order using an emailed PDF from your back-office system, which OnePlace will automatically translate and upload into the system.
Orders raised in OnePlace are validated and processed automatically according to that supplier’s delivery rules, meaning fewer delivery delays. And real-time stock level updates mean you will always know whether a product is in stock before you place the order.
Once the order has been placed, you can login to your OnePlace account to access all the documentation connected to your current and previous OnePlace orders, including order acknowledgements, delivery notes and even tracking information. Members who order via OnePlace also get access to additional rebates, discounts and exclusive promotional offers.
Other benefits of having a OnePlace account include easy access to products from suppliers that you may not currently trade with and ranges you don’t currently stock – so you can be safe in the knowledge that you’ll never miss a sale, whatever your customer wants. You can browse new products and product sectors whenever is convenient, with built-in comparison tools so that you will always choose the right stock for your business and product for your customers.
Some OnePlace suppliers also offer drop-shipping delivery options, so that ordered products are delivered direct to your customer’s site, allowing you to sell a specific product without having to physically hold the stock in your branch.
But OnePlace offers many more benefits than a B2B ordering system. Thanks to its PIM functionality, NMBS suppliers can use OnePlace to manage their own product data. That means whenever suppliers update their product details, NMBS members who use OnePlace will immediately see all the latest images, updates or product brochures. With the latest development that went live early in 2022, members can now set up data channels, which allows them to receive automatic updates of product data and prices into their systems via API or FTP.
Since its launch in 2018, OnePlace has become a comprehensive product database featuring 200,000 products from multiple sectors across of the construction industry.
