LONDON: Alan Ball, the managing director of plumbing and heating merchant PTS, completed the world-renowned Flora London Marathon to raise £18 000 for the NSPCC. Mr Ball teamed up with Mike Conlon from Twyford Bathrooms and Paul Massey from Ideal Boilers to secure the impressive sum and complete the marathon, which was held on Sunday 26 April.

“Completing the marathon was by far the toughest challenge I have ever had to face," Mr Ball says.

"The NSPCC and its ChildLine service is such a worthy and inspirational cause and this gave me the extra boost I needed when the finish line seemed a million miles away! A thank-you to everyone who was kind enough to sponsor me and congratulations to Mike and Paul, who also completed the marathon to add further support to our chosen charity.”

PTS named the NSPCC as its partner charity at the start of 2008. By continuing its money-raising campaign, the merchant will help vulnerable children and young people at risk of cruelty in the UK.
