Pipe and Climate Center has invested £180,000 into streamlining the offering at its Kings Cross facility in central London, responding to an increase in demand for its essential product lines, the company says.
At the start of the year, construction analysts Glenigan projected a growth in commercial construction, much of which was to originate from London. As many of these projects are now underway, distributors such as Pipe and Climate Center have said they are seeing an increase in footfall from contractors collecting essential items en route.
The location of Pipe and Climate Center in Kings Cross means that it is the ideal branch to hold a depth of stock for core pipes, valves and fittings, the company says. It opens at 6.30am, earlier than any other branch in the local area, and is accessible by foot and public transport.
By conducting research into the buying patterns of its customers in Kings Cross, Pipe and Climate Center identified a need to enhance its typical installation product range, including copper, stainless steel, carbon steel, plastic and malleable steel products.
The range covers various application requirements and installation methods, from solder ring through to press fitting, across approximately 1400 product lines with 60 different suppliers. All of these are commonly found on any construction and maintenance projects, Pipe and Climate Center says.
As well as working with customers to ensure the product lines are relevant, Pipe and Climate Center ensured that the branch team was instrumental in designing the new range, which incorporates products from Georg Fischer, Pegler Yorkshire and Geberit.
James Eagles, business development manager for London and the South, said: “At Pipe and Climate Center we strive to ensure our customer experience is as efficient as possible. In this industry time is money so when contractors need a product at the eleventh hour they want to be in and out as quickly as possible.
“We have therefore streamlined our Kings Cross facility to reflect the environment in which it is situated and make sure our customers get what they need from a branch visit.”
