The more than £10,000 raised by TIMco for charity through the sale of its In-Dex Decking Screws will be distributed to breast cancer charities across the UK, the company has announced.

For every tub of green In-Dex Decking Screws sold between 1 March and 30 September, 2015, the supplier of screws, fastener and fixings donated 25p to breast cancer charities.

The company says the range proved hugely popular last year during the decking season as merchants sought the screws, which are specifically designed for the construction of decking platforms.

The screw has a reduced head diameter to fit in the decking grooves, while its plating helps protect it against the elements, the manufacturer says. To enhance its ease of use, the screw has a deep thread and Type 17 Slash point to reduce the likelihood of the wood splitting.

Simon Midwood, managing director of TIMco, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have raised such a large amount of money for charity. Our In-Dex Decking Screw proved to be very popular last year so we thought it would be the perfect product to help raise money for charity.

“We’re extremely thankful to all of our customers who helped us raise the money, we were overwhelmed with everyone’s support as we sold more than 40,000 tubs of the screws.”
