Travis Perkins Group has announced internal changes to its leadership team, effective 1 March 2023.

James Mackenzie, currently Managing Director of Toolstation UK, has been appointed Managing Director of Travis Perkins General Merchant business, while Angela Rushforth, currently Managing Director of BSS, has been appointed Managing Director of Toolstation UK.

Mackenzie has led the Toolstation UK business over the last six years. During this period he led the strategy to accelerate the development of Toolstation, enhancing the digital offer and transforming the trade customer proposition and branch network to more than double the turnover of the business, outperforming peers. 

He previously served on the board of Screwfix as Commercial and Digital Director, and held a number of senior positions in Kingfisher, including General Manager – Kingfisher Asia, and Director of Trading at B&Q. He is a Non-Executive Director of Nisbets Plc, and sits on the advisory board of the fintech charity Pennies.

Rushforth has led BSS over the past four years. During this period she has overseen the development of TF Solutions and the technical service proposition, including the creation of Design to Use. Rushforth’s previous experience includes time as Managing Director of Benchmarx and Ridgeons, and several years as Marketing Director with both Screwfix and Wolseley.

After a 28-year successful career within the Group, Kieran Griffin, currently Managing Director of Travis Perkins General Merchant, has decided to leave to explore new opportunities.
