W.Howard Group has passed the audits to achieve once again Bronze and Silver accreditation under the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).
W.Howard’s warehousing facility at Glazebury, Cheshire, has achieved the Silver FORS standard, while the London Distribution Centre in Thurrock has achieved the Bronze standard.
FORS is a voluntary scheme for fleet operators who strive for best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection. The scheme is open to any business operating a vehicle on a public highway, such as heavy goods vehicles, vans, passenger-carrying vehicles, and cars.
To become FORS-accredited, a company must be able to document that it adheres to the very highest safety standards, carrying out comprehensive risk assessments, recording any incidents and carrying out extensive driver safety training programs.
They must also prove that it carries out regular driving training, as well as monitoring performance management levels and working to ensure the safe and efficient running of their fleet. Companies must be able to document that they are continually looking for ways to improve their performance and efficiency levels, as well as reducing their environmental impact.
W.Howard Group first achieved FORS accreditation in 2019, and in March 2021 was audited to confirm that it is still adhering to these exemplary standards.
