There can only be one recipient for the Lifetime Achievement Award (sponsored by H+H) and the name of this individual will only be made public at the Awards ceremony on 19 November at the Lancaster Hotel in London.
That is when over 400 of the sector's captains of industry will gather under one roof to celebrate the sector's highest achieving individuals and companies.
Making their deliberations at Builders' Merchants News' London headquarters, this year's panel of judges included: Howard Grant, managing director of United merchants (Unimer); Chris Hayward, managing director of the NMBS; Simon Storer, the communications and external affairs director of the Construction Products Association; Rebecca Mason, president of the Institute of Builders' Merchants; Andrew Hall, president of the GAI and Gary Hopkins, master of the Worshipful Company of Builders' Merchants. Christine Harding, marketing manager of the Builders' Merchants Federation and William Godfrey, managing director of Robert Price Builders' Merchants and last year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, cast their votes in absentia.
Now that the finalists have been selected, they will be invited to attend the Awards Luncheon as guests of the sponsors for their category.
