JT Atkinson has officially opened a new branch in Skipton; the company’s 39th location across the North of England.

Located at Wyvern Park, the new site strengthens the family-run business's presence in North Yorkshire and continues a growth journey that spans more than 160 years and seven generations.

The Skipton branch has been developed to provide local tradespeople, builders, landscapers and homeowners with convenient access to a wide range of building supplies and specialist products.

JT Atkinson Managing Director Jamie Atkinson said the expansion reflects the company's long-term commitment to supporting both trade professionals and DIY customers across the region.

"Opening in Skipton is an important step for JT Atkinson and one we're incredibly proud of," said Atkinson.

"As a family business, relationships and service have always been at the heart of what we do. We're excited to bring that approach to Skipton by supporting local tradespeople, businesses and homeowners with quality products, knowledgeable staff and dependable service.

"We've seen strong demand in the area for a builders' merchant that combines competitive pricing with genuine expertise and personal service, and we're looking forward to becoming part of the local community."

The new branch features a 12,500ft2 warehouse and a large bathroom and kitchen showroom, and offers a comprehensive range of building supplies, timber, roofing, landscaping materials, plumbing, and heating products for both trade and public customers.

Branch Manager Jamie Drake said: "We've had such a warm welcome since we opened on the 18th May. The branch has been designed to improve accessibility for customers across North Yorkshire so we're excited to see new customers drop in to see us and we're confident we can provide a convenient local destination for a wide range of construction and home improvement materials. The layout has been carefully planned to ensure customers can be served quickly and efficiently."

The new branch also incorporates a number of sustainability features, including solar photovoltaic panels and a surface water attenuation system to help manage runoff and reduce pressure on local drainage infrastructure. The site is on track to achieve a ‘Very Good' BREEAM rating and has already secured an EPC A+ (-6) rating, meaning the building is expected to generate more energy than it consumes over the course of a year.

The opening also creates eight new local jobs and further strengthens JT Atkinson's growing regional network. To support customers both on-site and across the region, the branch operates two HGV Hiab vehicles and a Luton van, enabling reliable and flexible delivery services.
