KENT: Martin Brown from PTS in Tonbridge completed a trek through Africa, raising £3300 the Alzheimer's Society.
Mr Brown, whose mother suffers from the illness, is a delivery driver from PTS Tonbridge. He completed the five-day trek through the Southern Drakensberg Mountains in Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa raising the sum for the Alzheimer's Society – an organisation which works to improve the life of those suffering with dementia in the UK.
"The trek was challenging at times, but it was an amazing experience dedicated to a worthy cause," he stated.
"My mother has received some outstanding support, so I wanted to give something back to show my gratitude."
Mr Brown raised awareness of his project by setting up a mannequin of himself at the PTS trade counter sporting an Alzheimer's Society T-shirt explaining why he was raising funds.
"I am proud of what I have achieved and would like to say a big 'thank-you' to all the PTS staff and customers that have supported me."
