James Mackenzie, Managing Director of Toolstation, will be speaking at UFEMAT’s European Builders Merchants Conference in London at the end of April.

Mackenzie, who took up his role at Toolstation in 2017, has been in retail for over 25 years and has international experience of multi-channel and digital expansions. He previously served on the board of Screwfix as Commercial & Digital Director, and held senior positions within Kingfisher, notably General Manager – Kingfisher Asia, and Trading Director at B&Q. His presentation will focus on digitalisation in a national merchant, matching the general theme of the event: European Unity in a Digital Age.

The 62nd UFEMAT Congress, which is due to take place on 28-30 April 2022 after being delayed by the pandemic, brings together builders' merchants, building material suppliers and trade bodies from across Europe. This year's event is organised by the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF), whose CEO, John Newcomb, is the current UFEMAT President.

UFEMAT's business conference will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the conference programme includes a tour of the stadium, as well as visits to a local builders' merchant and London landmarks.
