Travis Perkins has announced a long-term partnership with Catnic to support tradespeople in tackling real-world challenges in the trade, including tool theft.
Responding to issues faced by trades, such as tool theft, Catnic is partnering with Travis Perkins to launch one of its most visible merchant-facing promotions to date.
Travis Perkins Trade Account customers who purchase Catnic or Wienerberger products in a single transaction in June and July will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win a pair of Tool Trackers.
Speaking about the significance of the partnership, Charmaine Dean, Marketing Manager at Catnic, said: "Catnic is committed to supporting the trade with practical, high impact initiatives that make a real difference on site and on the job. These campaigns with Travis Perkins show the strength of our partnership and our shared focus on helping tradespeople protect their tools, stretch their budgets and keep projects moving."
According to a Tradespeople Against Tool Theft white paper, tool theft is a rising concern for tradespeople across the UK, threatening their livelihoods and lead times on projects. This data shows the impact of the issue:
- 78% of tradespeople have had tools stolen, with repeat theft rising
- Tool theft costs between £1,000-£5,000 per incident
- Just 1% of tradespeople fully recovered their tools
- Trades are investing heavily in security but feel unsupported
Tool Trackers are compact Bluetooth-enabled tracking devices designed to help tradespeople keep track of valuable tools and equipment. They work by pairing with a smartphone app, allowing users to:
- See the last known location of a tool
- Trigger an alert if a tool is left behind
- Reduce the risk of tool loss or theft
