WIGAN: Six staff from Wickes will take part in a 12-mile fund-raising walk to Warrington this week to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. The Wigan store's walk is part of a 341-mile relay trek this month from Preston to Havant in Hampshire to raise money for the DIY chain's national charity partner.

Irena Vekstein, customer service manager at Wigan Wickes, said: "It'll be a tough challenge, but everyone at the store is really looking forward to it. It's a great way of getting everyone together and raising money for an incredibly worthwhile charity."

A team of staff from Warrington Wickes will go on to walk to Northwich, the next store on the route, on 4 June, with the relay ending on 26 June in Havant.
