The government has published a summary of responses this week on its latest round of proposed changes to the Building Regulations.
The department received responses from 715 separate organisations and individuals. The largest numbers of responses came from builders/developers, manufacturers/supply chain, building control bodies and organisations with specific interests such as national representatives and trade bodies. Many respondents replied to more than one consultation section.
The changes cover a number of Parts of the Building Regulations, including Parts A, B, C, L, K, M, N and P.
One headline issue in the press at the time of the consultation was the controversial 'consequential improvements' change proposed to Part L, which would have required home owners making specific changes to their property to upgrade the energy performance of their homes. The government said last week that this would be dropped.
