IRELAND: Crews from 13 fire units battled an inferno that gutted a new furniture and flooring store and threatened to engulf the adjacent Wickes store.
The fire started in the early hours yesterday morning at Eastpoint Discount Furniture and Flooring on the outskirts of Limerick city. It took over five hours to extinguish the blaze that fire fighters feared would destroy the adjacent Wickes DIY premises.
A technical examination was carried out at the scene of the blaze yesterday but the cause is not yet known.
