The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has announced a change to the speaker line-up at the BMF Annual Members Conference on 17 September.
Bradley Thomas MP, the newly appointed Conservative Shadow Business Minister, will provide insight into the current political landscape and plans to reboot the UK economy. Bradley replaces Andrew Griffith MP, who had to withdraw following his recent promotion to Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Bradley has risen quickly through the Conservative ranks since entering Parliament as MP for Bromsgrove at the last election, having been singled out for a skill set that combines political experience and business expertise. Before entering Parliament, he served as Leader of Wychenden District Council for five years and worked for the BDR Thermea Group, the parent company of major heating businesses including Baxi.
BMF CEO John Newcomb said: "Bradley Thomas brings a valuable combination of political and business experience to his new role. At a time when businesses are looking for greater confidence and a clear path to economic growth, our members will welcome the opportunity to hear his views on how the UK can create the conditions for businesses to invest, grow and support the wider economy."
The BMF Annual Members Conference and Awards takes place at the Belfry Hotel and Resort in Sutton Coldfield on 16 and 17 September.
