Taylor Maxwell, part of the BRCK Group plc, has appointed Finlay Gilding and Scott Barrett as Regional Sales Directors for timber in the South and North respectively.

Both appointments reflect the company's commitment to developing talent from within.

Gilding has been promoted from Regional Manager, having joined Taylor Maxwell in 2021. With more than ten years' experience in the timber industry, he will oversee sales and administrative teams across the South.

His priorities include driving sales performance, strengthening customer and supplier partnerships, developing his team and building business resilience through fluctuations in market demand.

Gilding said: "I'm honoured to take on this role at a business with nearly seven decades of history. Taylor Maxwell has a strong reputation built on its people and relationships and I want to carry that legacy forward, support our teams and help shape the future of the business."

Barrett began his career in the timber industry at a small family sawmill before joining Taylor Maxwell as a Sales Trainee in January 2016. He has since developed sales and new business across the South West, Midlands and Wales, then moved into National Key Accounts.

Now promoted to Regional Sales Director for the North, he will oversee teams based in Leeds and Edinburgh, focusing on customer service, developing the supply chain and broadening the division's product offering.

Barrett said: "The people have always been the heartbeat of Taylor Maxwell and the business remains committed to providing ongoing opportunities. We have a highly motivated sales team and excellent support across the business. My priority is to build on those strengths, develop our supplier relationships and ensure we continue to deliver for our customers."

Greg Pickett, Managing Director of Taylor Maxwell Timber, said: "Finlay and Scott have both made significant contributions to the business and these appointments are thoroughly deserved. Their industry knowledge, customer relationships and understanding of our business will be invaluable as we continue to grow our timber offering across the UK."
