BSS Industrial has kick-started its charity partnership with Mind, the mental health charity, with a colourful balloon race held at its Leicestershire head-office on 3 November.
The balloon race was the first of many planned fundraising efforts, with many more activities due to be completed at BSS Industrial branches in the UK. Over the next two years, BSS Industrial hopes to raise a total of £100,000, which will allow Mind to provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem in England and Wales. Sister charities Niamh, (the Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health) and SAMH (the Scottish Association for Mental Health) will ensure BSS supports projects across the UK.
Chris Hufflett, managing director of BSS Industrial, said: “We are extremely proud to support such an important cause and give back to the communities where our branches are based. Statistics show that one in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year, and as a result we feel that promoting greater awareness and understanding of mental health issues, with Mind, is very important.
“We have achieved phenomenal success with our previous charity Help the Hospices. I want to thank all our staff for their hard work in supporting this cause. We look forward to replicating this outstanding effort and the same positive response across our network of customers, suppliers, and colleagues.”
