Jim Moody and Terry Townend have been appointed as Grant UK's newest Area Sales Managers, covering central and southern Scotland, and the Midlands, respectively.

Moody will be covering the counties between the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway up to Stirling and Argyll and Bute. Meanwhile, Townend will cover Merseyside, Manchester, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, as well as the Midlands. Both Jhave backgrounds steeped in the heating industry, each having extensive experience with traditional and renewable home heating systems.

Moody completed a plumbing apprenticeship while living in South Africa. After moving to Scotland, he worked as a plumbing and heating sub-contractor, on new installations and repairs. In 2017, he stepped away from the tools after over two decades as an engineer to join a heating manufacturer as their Technical Sales Manager for Scotland.

Following a serious leg injury, he was forced off the road and took up new roles managing Technical Support before joining a skills training group, where he completed the programme to become a Trainer and Assessor. More recently, Moody has been a Sustainable Home Centre Manager, providing extensive customer support with heating system design.

Townend’s career in the plumbing and heating industry spans twenty years, during which time he has worked in the merchant sector, starting his career in boiler spares before becoming a Sales Supervisor at a national merchant. Seventeen years ago, he moved to another national merchant where he joined as an Assistant Branch Manager before taking on an Area Sales role.

In 2011, Townend was a member of that merchant’s Specialist Renewable Sales team. Having worked in a renewables specialist role for over a decade, he is experienced with air source heat pumps and low temperature systems.

“I am excited to get out on the road again in my role as Area Sales Manager for Grant UK,” commented Moody. “Travelling over the most beautiful parts of the UK and chatting with some of the best heating engineers and customers are the best perks of the job. I am looking forward to building relationships with existing Grant customers as well as meeting new customers looking to work with Grant’s extensive product offering.”

“Like Jim, I am looking forward to my new role as an Area Sales Manager for Grant UK,” Townend explained. “With my experience of low carbon heating and my knowledge from working in the merchant network, I want to help make the transition into renewables as simple and easy as it can be, supporting existing and new customers.

“Not only does Grant UK have a great depth of quality products, they also have the support to back their products. From their whole house heating solutions and installer friendly heat pumps through to their extensive range of ancillary products, Grant UK’s offering stands out and I am looking forward to helping customers with Grant’s quality home heating solutions.”
