Sustainable Building Solutions (SBS), part of the Travis Perkins Group, is celebrating its successful partnership with Local Authority Building Control (LABC). By working closely with LABC, SBS customers can easily access support to help them meet the requirements of the Building Regulations and a whole range of complementary construction related services.

This combined approach follows a successful collaboration on a set of Standard Construction Drawings, both for the retrofit and new build market. The thermally-modelled drawings, designed by SBS and accredited by LABC under their Registered Details scheme, provide a free resource to make simple building changes that will deliver improved efficiency.

Paul Joyner, director of Sustainable Building Solutions, said: "Working with LABC was a logical step as we both aim to promote the design and construction of safe, accessible, efficient buildings which comply with Building Regulations. Together we can look to the future and provide builders and specifiers with easy access to sustainable building advice and supplies delivered by national companies at local level

“The Travis Perkins Group is also an official sponsor of the LABC Awards, both regionally and nationally. It’s important that our mutual support is visible to the industry and that further partnerships are encouraged to bring material improvement to building standards in the UK.”

Lorna Stimpson, managing director of LABC Consult said: “We are really pleased to be working with the Travis Perkins Group, the UK’s largest supplier of Building Materials, so we can provide its customers with a full range of Building Control and related services.”

LABC, which supports over 3000 staff in its 320 local offices across England and Wales, offers practical guidance on the design and construction of safe, accessible and environmentally efficient buildings, in line with Building Regulation standards. SBS was created to provide builders, architects and specifiers with energy efficient and compliant solutions which are applicable for new-build, retrofit and repair and maintenance markets.
