Somerset-based timber supplier demonstrates aggressive growth with a new purpose built timber yard and a recruitment drive for additional staff.

Family run timber supplier, Timbersource, based in Marston Park, Tytherington – near Longleat, is around two months away from finishing the building of its new purpose built, larger premises in Waterlip, Shepton Mallet, with the aim to begin trading from this location in July.

It’s approximately 1,650m2 in size with some additional small external areas. The increased size will enable the company to operate more efficiently, with more capacity for stock.

“To have the opportunity to design our own larger building to facilitate our expanding business is fantastic,” said Stuart Kemp, chief executive officer of Timbersource. “We have been able to work with the developers at every stage to ensure that every detail of the building is just how we would need it, so that we are able to offer a faster, even more efficient service to our customers. It is wonderful to watch the building come to life from drawings on paper.”

Specifically, the expansion in size is required to facilitate increased timber storage and machining. The growth of the national timber supplier has also led to a recruitment drive.

“We have already recruited people due to our increased sales and as we are very busy, we are advertising for further people,” concluded Mr Kemp.
