Travis Perkins reports group turnover for the eleven months to the end of November up 1.6%.

This period includes two more trading days in it merchanting and plumbing and heating divisions compared to 2011.

In a trading update, the company said sales grew 1.4% in general merchanting and 3.7% in specialist merchanting. But plumbing and heating products sales dropped 5.8%. Consumer sales sales through Wickes rose by 13.3%.

Like-for-like sales trends for the group are similar to those reported in October, with year-to-date like-for-like sales slightly lower at a negative 1.8%. The specialist merchanting division reported a 1.6% growth percent largely from the closure of a competitor.

The company said its outlook for the year as a whole remains unchanged. ''We remain on target to meet consensus earnings per share and are on track to achieve our net debt target of approximately £450m at the year end,'' Travis said.
