LIVERPOOL: Travis Perkins has acquired a plot on 3.38-acre site off Speke Boulevard in South Liverpool.

The prime industrial site is the last undeveloped piece of former playing fields once used by Glaxo Smith Kline workers.

The plot fronts Woodend Avenue and acquired along with the GSK plant by Gresham House following the plant's closure. Gresham redeveloped part of the site but sold the fields to the current owner, a private individual.

CB Richard Ellis is offering plots to industrial and roadside trade users at £350,000 and acre.

Two parcels have already been sold on the site, now called the South Liverpool Trade Park, to VW Golf for a car dealership and Travis Perkins.

Jonathan Thorne, director of CBRE's industrial agency team, said: "We believe this will help attract similar operators to the plot and we currently have a number of interested parties."
