WJ Group has welcomed Andrew Pantry as the treatment plant manager for its Hull timber treatment facility, with the intention of optimising every aspect of the treatment process as the business expands.
Mr Pantry brings 28 years of timber industry experience with him, both in manufacturing and continuous improvement management roles. Alongside many years of working for MFI in the manufacture of kitchens and bedroom doors, Mr Pantry has more recently worked at timber company, John Brash as Kaizen Facilitator. This role focused on continuous improvement in addition to lean manufacturing, training and coaching. One project saw him set up a system to increase batten yield from 32% to 73%.
Mr Pantry aims to use his experience most effectively at WJ Group, looking to improve daily operational systems and provide customers with a sustainably efficient system that can support their business in terms of timescales and short-term capacity increases.
He said: “I have now found a progressive company that suits my background and experience. I look forward to continuously improving all aspects of the Hull timber treatment site whilst having the opportunity to develop my own knowledge and skillset in a company that actively wants to grow and develop. It’s also a pleasure to get to know WJ Group customers and see how I can make a positive contribution for them, where timber treatment is concerned.”
