Dementia UK will benefit after staff complete 889.2 mile walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Market-leading infrastructure businesses Burdens and Fusion Utilities, part of Wolseley Group, have already raised over £18,000 for Dementia UK after embarking on a charity walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End last month.

The fundraising walk, which began on 31 August, saw colleagues from across Wolseley undertake multiple legs of the walk, spanning the entire length of the UK and covered over 889.2 miles in four weeks.

Dementia UK was named Wolseley’s charity of the year following a company-wide vote, with the recent fundraising efforts supporting the charity’s vital work to improve the quality of life of those with dementia and their families.

Neal Lambert, Technical Director at Fusion Utilities, said: “Dementia UK is a charity that is close to the hearts of many of us here at Wolseley, and we’re so proud of what the team has achieved. It was certainly a challenging experience, but undoubtedly worth it to support such an important cause.”

The walk was Wolseley’s largest-ever business-wide charity endeavor attempted, but many more fundraising activities are planned to reach a fundraising target of £500k.
