The three town houses on a suburban estate in Tiverton – two black and one red – were built for a combined contract sum of around £200 000.
Piers Taylor of Mitchell Taylor Workshop said: "The point of the project was to demonstrate that for less than £900/sqm there is an alternative to the ubiquitous developer fodder which surrounds it."
They were built using just material that could be sourced in the local Jewson's.
The Bath-based practice has also just started on site with a music school for a college in Berkshire.
