Pan-European insulation specialist Actis has renewed its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiative.
The ‘Pacte Mondial' is an agreement, currently signed by 23,000 companies worldwide, for businesses and organisations to align their strategies and operations with the UN's ten principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, and to take actions that advance societal and sustainable development goals.
It is aimed at alleviating extreme poverty and reducing environmental risks around the globe.
Actis, which signed its first UN agreement back in 2024, renewed its promise this summer in line with the new UN Global Compact Strategy for 2026–2030.
Areas covered by the five-year vision include climate and nature, with members agreeing to adopt nature-positive practices and invest in climate resilience as biodiversity loss and climate related risks intensify.
The compact also calls for companies to ensure its employees receive a living wage, help advance gender equality, and embrace sustainable financial policies, investing in climate solutions and social equity to support a thriving, low carbon, inclusive economy.
Actis UK and Ireland sales director Mark Cooper said: "At Actis, we have always focused on creating products which enable the end users to live in a more environmentally friendly way. Not only are they produced using sustainable processes which themselves help in the fight against climate change, they are designed to keep heat in – or out in summer – thus reducing dependency on the carbon economy."
This is the latest stage in Actis' journey to advance its sustainability and CSR practices.
It was awarded a silver medal by sustainability and CSR organisation EcoVadis in 2025, and was among the top 15 per cent of performers from 125,000 companies assessed over the previous 12 months.
The assessment awarded marks against 21 criteria in four categories – environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement – in line with EcoVadis' mission to enable businesses to improve the planet and people's lives.
One of Actis products is Europe's only Cradle to Cradle Certified reflective insulation, for which it received Bronze certification from the global circular economy organisation Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
Actis' other products are all created under a zero-waste policy and are 100 per cent recyclable. The very low-energy production process consumes no water and sees all off-cuts recovered, crushed and reintroduced into the manufacturing process.
