The move is part of its ongoing commitment to improving environmental and operational efficiency within the supply chain.

Leading insulation, drywall, and ceiling product distributor CCF has appointed Phil Monkman to the newly created role of Head of Customer Sustainability.

Monkman will build on CCF’s commitment to developing practical solutions to help customers meet their own targets for a lower carbon future. In a role centred around innovation Monkman be developing new ways of working collaboratively through the entire supply chain, looking at the key issues of reducing carbon emissions, increasing recycling and supporting waste management, to deliver tangible results for its customers.

One of the key initiatives that CCF has introduced in the last 12 months is its new carbon reporting service. Currently in its first phase of development, this new tool will help improve the carbon footprint of the distribution link in the supply chain as well as making the materials delivery process as energy efficient as possible.

Monkman will also collaborate with CCF’s development team as well as customers and suppliers to unlock future innovation and best practice that will benefit the entire supply chain.

Monkman said: “It’s all about fostering collaboration between manufacturers, suppliers, customers as well as with other distributors. If we’re to achieve net zero we all have to work collaboratively and present real solutions for the whole supply chain to benefit from and that is going to be my main focus in this new position."
